Job Description:
A heavy truck driver is responsible for operating commercial vehicles with a gross weight of more than 26,000 pounds, such as tractor-trailers, dump trucks, and flatbeds. They transport goods, equipment, or materials over short or long distances, depending on the nature of the job.

Their responsibilities include:
- Loading and unloading goods or materials onto the truck, using various equipment such as forklifts or cranes.
- Checking the vehicle’s engine, brakes, tires, and other systems before and after every trip to ensure they are in good condition and working properly.
- Planning and following the most efficient and safe route to reach the destination on time.
- Complying with all traffic laws and regulations, including weight limits, height restrictions, and speed limits.
- Communicating with dispatchers, other drivers, and customers to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
- Maintaining a log of miles driven, fuel consumption, and other important information to report to their employer.
- Adhering to safety standards and protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, and property damage.
- Handling documentation such as bills of lading, delivery receipts, and other records related to the shipment.
- Maintaining a clean and organized truck cab and trailer.
Qualifications:
Qualifications for the job typically include:
- A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements, such as hazardous materials, tanker, or double/triple trailers.
- A clean driving record and the ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.
- Experience driving large commercial vehicles and knowledge of safety regulations.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physical strength and stamina to load and unload heavy cargo.
- The ability to work independently and follow instructions.

Experience:
